The Challenge

Our client, a global leader in advanced materials, set an ambitious green growth strategy targeting 2050. As part of this vision, they sought to reposition a core technology for entry into the rapidly evolving direct air capture (DAC) carbon capture market. Building on previous work with Oxentia, a potential key commercial partner was identified. The client’s objectives were twofold:

  • Understand the partner’s strategy and connect with the right decision-makers.
  • Identify new opportunities for their technologies across the wider carbon capture market.

Our Approach

Oxentia combined in-depth secondary research with targeted outreach:

  • Analysed the potential partner’s DAC strategy, market positioning, and the rationale behind a recent acquisition.
  • Explored partnership models, including sub-licensing technology for DAC applications and supplying ceramic scaffold materials for broader carbon capture operations.
  • Engaged directly with eight key individuals within the partner organisation to map strategy and identify the most relevant stakeholder.
  • Arranged and facilitated a high-impact meeting with the key stakeholder, followed by additional partnering meetings with other major players in the carbon capture sector.

The Impact

  • Strategic Insight: Oxentia delivered a clear analysis of the partner’s strategy, enabling our client to prepare effectively for partnership discussions and position themselves for maximum mutual benefit.
  • Meaningful Connections: Eight targeted outreach efforts led to direct engagement with the right decision-maker, accelerating partnership progress.
  • Tangible Results: The initial partnering meeting resulted in ongoing discussions between our client and the partner. Additionally, Oxentia organised two further meetings with other significant market players, broadening the client’s commercial opportunities in the carbon capture space.
